This one day HELM training seminar, funded by English Heritage brought together over 40 delgeates including Building Preservation Trusts, Design and Heritage Champions, Planning and Conservation Officers, elected Members and Legal professionals to listen to expert speakers from English Heritage on best practice in protecting vulnerable heritage assets.

The day was filled with interesting and engaging presentations, with an opening introductory presentation presentation by David Tomback, Development Economics Director, English Heritage which explored the problems that can arise and was followed by further presentations by Ceri Pemberton, Head of Legal at English Heritage and David Tomback on Valuation issues, Urgent Works Notices and Repairs Notices.

Following a networking lunch, the afternoon session was led by Robert Parkinson, Historic Buildings Architect at English Heritage who gave presentations on Schedules of Works and Putting it into Practice.
