This 800m2 building serves as a pre-school facility for local children, supported by administrative offices on the first floor.
The new structure had to be designed to sit comfortably within a listed environment. Triangular in form, the Centre forms a physical secure barrier to the soft playing areas behind, which in turn tie in with the play areas of the new referral unit adjacent to the north boundary and the existing football fields to the south. Heated by under-floor ducts, the building incorporates good use of natural daylight and ventilation. The external fabric has been air sealed and designed to minimise maintenance and running costs.
